During his sophomore year in high school, David was inspired by the tale of Robin Hood and popular RPG video games of the time, such as Final Fantasy 7 and Legend of Dragoon, to conceptualize Valor Tale into literary reality.

In 2007, Xlibris Publishing officially published Valor Tale, spanning 270 pages. It sold about 557 copies.

In the summer of 2019, David decided to re-write the book in script format, breathing new life into it by expanding the story, incorporating more pictures, and splitting it into three volumes.
